Supporting the families whose hearts are for the children

Inspired by James 1:27, 1:27 is dedicated to ensuring new foster and kinship care families in Ohio and Michigan, have the essential safety supplies they need to pass their home studies. Join us in providing the essentials for creating secure homes.

Our carefully curated home study kits are designed to provide new foster and kinship care families with immediate access to crucial safety supplies. Each kit is a step towards a secure and nurturing environment, ensuring peace of mind for both caregivers and children whilst helping them meet the safety requirements for their county. Below are the items that are included in our kits and required to become certified foster parents. We also work closely with SAFY of Cincinnati to provide other specific needs for families to pass their safety audit. Their biggest need is beds and mattresses. We also will raise money to quickly supply these needs as they occur.

Donate to provide a bed, bunk bed, or mattress to SAFY of Cincinnati as needed.

Or donate to our safety kits which include:

Smoke Detectors & carbon monoxide alarms

Fire extinguishers

Childproofing essentials

Also included: easy guide to making a customized fire escape plan and guide to creating an emergency contact list with water resistant covers. Both required for posting in the common area of the home whilst fostering a child. An Amazon gift card will be included in case the family needs to buy extra supplies such as baby gates or locks or whatever they may need!

For families taking teens

Dinner on us

We also will be providing a door dash gift card to provide 1 dinner for the foster family as they are prepping their home for the home inspection.

Our inspiration: James 1:27

Our ministry, 1:27, is rooted in the biblical call of James 1:27: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress..." This verse inspires our commitment to caring for children in foster and kinship care by ensuring they have safe, nurturing homes.
